“I have been taking Pilates with Laura for the past 3.5 years. When I first started I had a lot of issues with my lower back… I was about to have surgery when I decided give pilates a try as a last chance to heal. That’s when I met Laura and after a few months with her my pain was gone! I’m very thankful for all her hard work and knowledge, I feel very lucky that pilates was the right answer for me!”

About Laura Melgar
I grew up living an active lifestyle playing sports competitively from a young age. The will to win only grew as I got older. As an athlete I learned how to bear down, work hard and get it done at all costs. At least, that’s what I was doing in high school. As a freshman competing at a varsity level, I was pushing myself to my max. What I heard and internalized was everyone teaching me that if you want to get faster just run faster, if you want to be better, just run more, if you want to win just train harder. What I didn’t have was specific functional strength training to sustain my speed and endurance training. I was pushing my body and my mind to the limits of what it was able to do and it led to overtraining injuries along the way. Right before my senior year of high school I injured my knee, costing me a scholarship. In college, it cost me a hip injury that required surgery. As I continued to work through and recover from injuries, I knew I wanted to get into the field of helping people. I went all in on understanding movement and got certified in multiple disciplines as well as nutrition. I’ve learned how a multifaceted approach to fitness can elevate not just your athleticism & performance but also your entire well being. Now I help athletes work towards their goals, get stronger, and give them confidence not only to succeed in their sport but to succeed in life. I’ll coach you through any downs you may experience because I have been there. I have moved from performing at all costs to progressing forward in health and I can take you through that same movement today.
About Pilates
Pilates is a movement system designed to transform the body. Toned muscle is created in addition to increasing mobility, flexibility, improving posture, building strength and correcting alignment. It's functional training. It's strength training. It's mindful, intelligent exercise that focuses on precision, control, alignment, and flow. Joseph Pilates created this system to "bring bodies back to health" and he focused heavily on the connection between mind and body.
All fitness levels can benefit from Pilates and it is suitable for all ages, shapes and strength levels. While based on the original classical exercises, every class is unique and varied.

“I’m new to Pilates and Laura has proven to be an amazing trainer! Most gym workouts compress my body; Pilates stretches me out and uses smaller muscle groups. Laure has guided me to a place where I enjoy greater physical flexibility, strength, and agility. I highly recommend this dynamic and motivational trainer to all Pilate enthusiasts.”
