About Laura

Movement has always been a part of who I am.

Growing up, I played sports year-round, and by high school I was competing at the varsity level. Like many athletes, I believed success came from pushing harder. Run faster. Train longer. Never back down.

That mindset helped me become a dedicated athlete, but it also came at a cost.

Without the strength, recovery, and movement education to support the demands I was placing on my body, injuries became part of my journey. A knee injury before my senior year of high school cost me a scholarship opportunity. Later, while playing rugby in college, ongoing hip pain led to surgery. Recovering from those injuries changed the trajectory of my life.

I realized that movement isn't just about working harder—it's about working smarter.

That experience sparked a deep curiosity about how the body moves, adapts, and heals. I earned my degree in Physiology and Neuroscience and continued my education through comprehensive Pilates training, personal training, nutrition coaching, and movement-based continuing education.

What began as my own search for answers became my passion and my career.

Today, I help people understand their bodies so they can build strength, move with confidence, and get back to doing the things they love—whether that's hiking, chasing after kids, returning to sport, or simply feeling good in everyday life.

My Teaching Philosophy

If you've ever taken a class with me, you'll quickly notice that I love explaining the "why."

I believe understanding movement is just as important as performing it. When you know why an exercise works, what you're trying to feel, and how your body is adapting, you're better equipped to move confidently both inside and outside the studio.

My teaching blends anatomy, biomechanics, and the principles of Pilates with a warm, encouraging approach. I'll challenge you, celebrate your progress, and meet you where you are—whether you're recovering from an injury, building strength, or refining your skills as a Pilates instructor.

My goal isn't just to give you a great workout.

It's to help you become more confident in your own body and leave every session understanding yourself a little better than when you walked in.

Meet My Home Studio

Atlas Health & Fitness is an intimate private Pilates studio designed to help you move mindfully. Bright, welcoming, and fully equipped, it's a space where we can slow down, ask questions, break down movement, and build confidence in your body through personalized instruction.

Unlike many Pilates studios that focus primarily on the Reformer, sessions at Atlas Health & Fitness can incorporate the full Pilates system. Every piece of equipment has a unique purpose, allowing us to tailor each session to your goals, your experience, and how your body moves.

The studio is equipped with a comprehensive collection of Pilates apparatus, giving us the flexibility to challenge, support, and educate your body in different ways—whether you're recovering from an injury, building strength, improving athletic performance, or simply looking to move with greater confidence.

It's a space where tradition, curiosity, and modern movement science come together to help you better understand your body.

Whether you're stepping into a Pilates studio for the first time or you're an experienced mover looking to deepen your practice, you'll find an encouraging environment where questions are welcomed, progress is celebrated, and every session is designed with you in mind.

One of my core values is that learning never stops.

The more I understand about movement, the better I can serve my clients and mentor the next generation of Pilates instructors. I regularly pursue continuing education to stay current with research, expand my clinical reasoning, and continue refining my teaching.
